The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...
Let the madness begin.
Took one of my good friends to the airport today in Houston and I was quickly reminded of what it was like to live in the fourth largest city in the country during Christmas time.
I have to take myself to the airport on Sunday afternoon with Sweet Home Alabama as my destination and I just hope I make it there without committing a felony. I am convinced that some of the worst drivers live in Houston and have absolutely no respect for brilliant, successful Bama girls who transplanted to Texas ;)
Since all of my friends have fled the busyness of Houston, including my fiance, I am working this weekend to spend Christmas week with my amazing family. Truthfully, I am more excited about feeling and breathing colder air than the humid 70 degree weather in Texas. I'm sure next week has a lot in store for me and I'm ready with open arms. I will have my camera with me all week for accurate and valid documentation of the debauchery that will happen in and around my presence.
As for Sunday night, as soon as I land, I am headed to meet up with my favorite group of teammates for our annual Christmas time reunion. This party is one of the biggest highlights of my year and I look forward to it every Christmas season.
And then of course, Christmas Day. Can I get a booyah! I can't wait.
Time to start packing...
Hope you folks have a great weekend.

Ah, WVa
A week from now, family members will be scrambling to get grandma's gift before we head over to stuff our faces with amazing Christmas food. A week from now, most of us will reminisce back to our roots. But, as for right now, well....this weekend had a lot in store for yours truly.
Take a look at this picture and you can probably figure it out...

Yes, I am marrying that individual to the left.
On a more serious note, I believe the state of West Virginia is up in mutiny. A majority of my close friends as well as that drunken fiance of mine attended WVU and pledged allegiance as Mountaineer faithful and raised Rich Rodriguez up onto a pedestal....rightfully so.
Well, I'm sure you could understand my hatred for Rich Rod after the move he pulled on my University of Alabama approximately one year ago. Guess what, I'm not alone any longer. His unpredicted move to leave his alma mater and his home for The Big House has caused for West Virginia faithful to call for his head.
Steve Slaton said it best when he couldn't understand why he would pass up Alabama to go to Michigan. I couldn't agree more. Looking back, I'm glad he didn't come to Alabama. I am perfectly content and happy with Nick Saban despite what all you Alabama haters say. He is one hell of a coach and no one can dispute that. Even Ivan Maisel referred to the University of Alabama as royalty in the college football world. Finally.
As for those WVU friends of mine, I apologize. I hate Michigan. Now, I hate them even more.
Christmas is quickly approaching and good luck to all of those last minute suckers who have to push their way through psycho soccer moms at the mall.
Roll Tide Roll.

I'm praying to God that next year holds a little bit more success for the crimson tide. I'm dying here...

And Here We Go....
The BCS revealed their ever-so-holy bowl selections this evening and the only word I can think of is....vomit. I have never been so disappointed in an organized group of athletics as I have been this year in college football. First off, my beloved Crimson Tide decided to not finish the season, which started the spiral in my own mind. Second off, the fact that two undeserving, overrated teams will play for the BCS national championship game, which should be given to another respectable, deserving institution.
I am so disappointed and so let-down. Les Miles IS the worst coach I have ever witnessed. Over and over, he is constantly out-coached, but Nick Saban's players save his overly large head from embarrassment each and every Saturday. It is a fantastic day to be an Alabama fan because I hope Les Miles stays at LSU forever. He will run that program straight into the ground once Saban's players graduate. I have no doubt in my mind. I will physically drive myself to that POS of a city called Baton Rouge and lobby for a 20 year contract extension for Les Miles.
And, Ohio State? Ohio State? WTF?! Please tell me what you've been doing the past two weeks...oh, wait, that's right, eating chicken wings and drinking beer just like you did last December and got pummeled by Florida. Once again, an overrated program with the opportunity to call themselves the best team in the nation when they have absolutely no right to do so. Have I mentioned that I'm disappointed?
On to the Rose Bowl: USC v. Illinois.
What a pure travesty. This is just embarrassing. Dear Pasadena, are you seriously going to put Ron Zook and those absolutely horrific orange uniforms in your Rose Bowl? Obviously, you don't want to see a good game; you just want USC to win...again. Awful. Ritchie, I'm sorry buddy.
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma v. West Virginia
This one interests me....a lot. This game could be amazing....IF the Mountaineers actually show up this game and Rich Rodriguez remembers how to coach. So, I hope Pat White gets healthy and Steve Slaton comes to play running back because I am more excited about this game than any other BCS bowl game.
Sugar Bowl: Georgia v. Hawaii.
Georgia will crush Colt Brennan within the first 10 seconds of regulation. Any questions?
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech v. Kansas
Um, who cares? Ok, ok. Seriously, this is huge for the Va. Tech faithful, but not so good for Mangino's coronary arteries. I am genuinely concerned for that man's health.
Yes, I'm bitter. I'm sure you've noticed.

Well, here's to over twenty days of continuous discussion and arguments on who should be in what bowl and who's going to kick who's ass. Cheers.
